Exporters from Italian fresh produce wholesaler Peviani will be one of the many dynamic groups on hand at this year’s London Produce Show and Conference from 21-23 March, bringing their more than 100 years of experience and innovation to the floor at ExCel London.
The company, which acquired its first farms in Southern Italy in the 1960s before turning into a modern organisation of growers, boasts a strong background in the cultivation of grapes, brassica florets, seedless watermelons and artichokes. Peviani stands out for its constant research and its all-around supply chain efforts in production, marketing and distribution, plus its sustainable initiatives. They are keen to meet potential UK partners to discuss their products and ideas.
“Grapes are one of the most significant examples of our efforts in agricultural innovation,” Commercial Director Andrea Peviani said. “Observing the International market trends, some years ago we decided to specialise in different varieties of patented seedless grapes (Sunworld, SNFL, IFG). These items are now available almost 6 months/year. But innovation means also commitment towards people and the environment.”
Beyond BRC, IFS and Global Gap, Peviani recently earned he Smeta certificate as well as another important Italian certification, which builds on the transparency along the chain, according to CEO Gino Peviani.
Peviani is also strongly invested in new systems that save water and fertilizers and the use of active ingredients that sustain biodiversity.
“Almost 90% of the produce destined to our foreign markets comes from our farms in Ginosa, Apulia,” said Saverio Fuccillo, export manager. “In the last years we’ve built real trustworthy partnerships with our large-scale clients in Northern Europe and we are now ready to widen our network.”
