Always keen to undercut competitors on pricing of its items, Aldi typically goes even lower on select fresh products this time of year.
From 18th December, Aldi shoppers will find those Super Six vegetables in stores across the UK for less than 20p. This is an especially nice gift during a 12-month stretch when consumers have scuffled with affordability.
“With research from Aldi showing that 1 in 3 (35%) Brits are worried about the cost of Christmas this year, these price slashes will help families keep the costs down this festive season, whilst still enjoying high quality produce,” Aldi officials said in a statement.
So what’s on the offer?
The Super Six includes vegetables from British suppliers: White Potatoes (15p, 2kg), Carrots (19p, 1kg), Parsnips (19p, 500g), Red and White Cabbages (19p each), Brussels Sprouts (19p, 500g), and Swedes (19p each).
Aldi noted that suppliiers won’t be hurt by the reduction in pricing. “The supermarket carefully plans any promotions and works with British growers on a seasonally or annual fixed cost price,” they said. “That means, regardless of promotional activity in store, growers receive the same fair price as usual.”
The promotion will last through 24th December.
