The Global Cherry Summit, the foremost annual event on the global cherry industry’s calendar, will take place on April 23, 2020, at the Sun Monticello Conference Center in San Francisco de Mostazal, Chile.
Organized by Yentzen Group, Produce Business magazine and the Cherry Committee of ASOEX, the Global Cherry Summit will once again bring together the world’s leading players in the global cherry industry to share key information and focus on the new challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Global demand for cherries has soared over recent years, with total exports in 2018 hitting US$3 billion for the first time – double what they were just five years ago. From Chile, volumes have risen three-fold since 2012, with the country last year supplying one-third of global exports.
The Global Cherry Summit 2020 will provide what you need to capitalize on this exciting growth, offering eye-opening sessions on the international cherry trade, emerging markets, new commercial opportunities, marketing strategies and logistical developments, as well as ample networking opportunities.
The 2019 edition hosted over 700 participants from the world’s main cherry export and import countries, including Chile, China, the U.S., the UK, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, New Zealand, Spain and Turkey. There were also more than 60 companies from the industry exhibiting their products and services.
Attendees at the previous two events praised the quality of the educational sessions, the organization and the diverse and international crowd, which included retailers (online and offline), growers, exporters, importers, marketers and researchers.
“Gathering thought- and practice-leaders from six continents, the Global Cherry Summit is the premier event for cherry industry professionals from across the global supply chain,” said Jim Prevor, editor-in-chief of Produce Business magazine. “By collaborating, idea-sharing, and increasing our knowledge base, we can prepare for a bright future in this exciting and dynamic industry.”
“We are delighted to announce that the Global Cherry Summit will be returning in 2020,” said Gustavo Yentzen, general manager of Yentzen Group. “This event has quickly established itself as the most important meeting point for cherry industry professionals from around the world.”
Cristian Tagle, president of the Chilean Cherry Committee, said the Global Cherry Summit has become a key event for the industry worldwide and takes place at an ideal time to reflect on the Chilean season.
“It comes on a perfect date when everyone wants to know how the Chilean season concluded,” he said. “Shipments finish in late February and March, and so April is a great time to close the campaign and inform everybody about how it went.”
