British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s recently opened a pair of new Local stores, one in Greenwich and one in Wootton, keeping with social distancing guidelines in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sainsbury’s says both stores will offer “an excellent range of fresh fruits and vegetables” as well as other local products, and will play an active role in the community by working closely to support key initiatives.

One of those is the 2,150 square foot site on Banning Street in Greenwich, which is working closely with the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

“It’s a very exciting day for the new team and we look forward to providing our customers with quality products and friendly service,” Asraf Bhuiyan, Sainsbury’s Greenwich Banning Street Local Store Manager says. “The new store looks great and we’re excited to get to work and welcome our new customers. It’s also important to our team to play an active role in the community.”

Meanwhile in Wootton, the 3,000 square foot Folkes Road store is working with Bizzy Bees Preschool on some new toys and essentials.

“The new store looks fantastic and we have a team of colleagues who are excited to welcome and serve customers, providing them with a convenient place to pick up a coffee and their favourite grocery products,” David Button, Sainsbury’s Wootton Local Store Manager, says. “Our aim is to provide great quality and value alongside friendly service and we really look forward to playing an active role in the Wootton community.”

Sainsbury’s is pleased to announce that its new Local store on Folkes Road, Wootton, officially opened its doors at 7am on Sunday 28th June, offering customers a convenient choice of quality food for fantastic value. Headteacher of nearby Wootton Lower School, Chris Tavener, cut the ribbon at an opening ceremony
